The pain is usually well tolerated with normal painkillers. A support\/compression bra is fitted immediately after the operation. The stitches are removed after 12-14 days. You should allow yourself plenty of rest one to two weeks after the operation. Lifting heavy loads in particular should be avoided. In the first few weeks after the operation, you should sleep on your back in a slightly elevated position. Swelling and bruising are normal and can vary greatly from person to person. They will subside, but sometimes only disappear completely after about two months. The so-called scar maturation (with swelling and fading of the scars) can take up to a year.
