Wrinkle injection Berlin
with hyaluronic acid fillers and autologous fat

Volume filling with tissue fillers
With wrinkle injections, fillers are injected directly under the wrinkles. The wrinkles are filled in and significantly reduced. The tissue regains its supporting and smoothing effect.

Non-degradable ("non-absorbable") substances should not be used.

Different materials are available:
  • Treatment of frown lines and other wrinkles caused by facial expressions with Botox (botulinum toxin)
  • Wrinkle injections and volume treatment with hyaluronic acid
  • Wrinkle injections and volume treatment with autologous fat(lipofilling)

Wrinkle injection with hyaluronic acid

Methods

Hyaluronic acid is a highly water-binding sugar structure (glycosaminoglycan) that stimulates collagen formation in the human body and gives the skin elasticity. It is produced artificially without animal testing or animal ingredients. The acid is also a popular ingredient in skin creams. In the body, hyaluronic acid is found, for example, as a component of synovial fluid and the vitreous humour in the eye. The most commonly used filler at present is so-called "cross-linked hyaluronic acid". It is now used even more frequently than collagen, as it is particularly well tolerated by the skin and no allergy test is required before use. The results are comparable in quality to the use of collagen.

Course of treatment

There are different types of hyaluronic acid. Depending on the degree of "cross-linking", they are suitable for either deep or superficial wrinkles. The material has a gel structure. The "cross-linked" and thicker variant is used to plump up deep wrinkles. "Uncross-linked hyaluronic acid", on the other hand, is less viscous and spreads evenly and evenly under the skin. It is used to plump up larger areas of skin with many small wrinkles (e.g. creases on the neck, décolleté, cheeks). The precise placement of the hyaluronic acid under and along the wrinkle zones is crucial for successful treatment. This method of wrinkle treatment itself causes almost no pain - apart from the needle insertion, of course. A local anaesthetic is added to the product, which makes the treatment completely painless. The unpleasant feeling of pressure previously experienced after the injection is therefore no longer an issue. The rejuvenation treatment is often carried out in combination with botulinum toxin for frown lines on the forehead and other mimic wrinkles.
After an injection with hyaluronic acid, you should avoid sport, sun and sauna for at least one day.

Course of treatment

Fortunately, pure, synthetically produced hyaluronic acid harbours hardly any risks. However, various mixed substances containing plastic particles (so-called "permanent fillers" that are not degradable by the body) are also available. These products promise a long-lasting effect, but the risk of complications is extremely high, as they can lead to granulomas and suppuration even years later and sometimes have to be cut out in several laborious and sometimes disfiguring operations.

The general risks of treatment with hyaluronic acid and a result that does not meet your personal expectations cannot be ruled out.

Wrinkle treatment with autologous fat

Methods

This method uses the body's own fat, which is harvested under local or general anaesthetic in a similar way to liposuction.

Course of treatment

During liposuction, the fat is suctioned out of areas with excess fat, processed and then injected into the corresponding area of the face. Only small amounts are required for the facial area. Unfortunately, the removal sites do not "benefit" much from the removed fat. The injection must be repeated once or twice at intervals of a few weeks or months to achieve the desired result, as some (30-40%) of the autologous fat is broken down by the body.

After wrinkle injection with autologous fat, extreme facial movements should be avoided to prevent the fat from shifting. Swelling and bruising will subside after four to ten days. Sun and sport should be avoided for at least three weeks. Disadvantage of this method: Compared to other injections, this wrinkle treatment is significantly more time-consuming and leaves marks that can last for several days. However, the end result is permanent.

Risks

There are usually no complications when using the body's own substances; minor bruising is normal. Due to the small amounts of fat removed, the physical strain is minimal. However, in rare cases, lumps or fat nodules (so-called oil cysts) and asymmetries may occur. Otherwise, the same risks apply as with liposuction. The general treatment risks and an unsatisfactory aesthetic result are not excluded.
