Answers to the most frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to some questions that frequently arise in aesthetic plastic surgery. Please note, however, that no questions about individual surgical procedures are answered here on purpose. A personal consultation is essential in order to be able to create a good, individualised treatment concept.

What surgical and non-surgical treatments do you perform?

We offer a wide range of cosmetic, aesthetic plastic surgery from liposuction to facelifts for women and men. We also carry out wrinkle treatments as "in-office" therapy, i.e. during consultation hours. We are able to recommend the least invasive procedure to achieve the desired result. On the website you will find under the Treatment points all methods with detailed explanations.

Are your team members fully qualified?

Dr Noack is a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery and a member of the Berlin Medical Association.

He is also a certified member of several professional associations and specialist societies for plastic surgery, including the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons - DGPRÄC and the German Society of Plastic Surgeons - DGPRÄC. Will I meet the surgeon who will perform the treatment?

Absolutely! This is the key and also the core of the practice's philosophy. Dr Noack performs the treatments and operations personally. After your treatment, you will be followed up closely to discuss any post-operative concerns you may have.

Where do the treatments and operations take place?

The non-surgical treatments take place in Dr Noack's practice "Ästhetik Berlin" at Alte Schönhauser Str. 23 in Berlin Mitte (Tel. 030 27 87 56 56). Bookings can be made by telephone, by e-mail contact form or conveniently online via Doctolib.

The operations are mainly performed at the Metropolitan Aesthetics practice clinic in a professional, private atmosphere at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin Mitte (Charlottenstraße) or alternatively at the Meoclinic, Berlin Mitte (Friedrichstraße).

What is special about the treatment?

You, your health and your safety are our absolute priority. In accordance with the professional ethos of specialists in plastic and aesthetic surgery, our most important task is to offer you personalised and independent advice and a high standard of treatment.

Can I see before and after photos?

Yes, we will show you our extensive collection of "before and after" photos during the consultation about the treatment you are interested in.

How quickly can I get an appointment for an operation after the consultation?

As part of our philosophy, we strongly recommend that you give yourself at least a two-week reflection period between the consultation and the decision to undergo surgery. The average waiting time is at least 4-6 weeks.

Wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid can often be carried out as part of the initial consultation.

What do I do if something happens after the operation and I need help quickly?

You can contact us throughout your recovery after an outpatient or inpatient operation.

You will be given an emergency telephone number that you can contact 24 hours a day.

How long do I need to recover before I can go back to work?

This depends on the type of operation, the healing process and your personal circumstances and can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

This is quicker after wrinkle treatments. After botulinum toxin treatments, you will generally be able to socialise and work immediately; after hyaluronic acid injections, there may be minor bruising depending on the region. Please ask how high the risk is for the respective area before treatment.

Can an eyelid lift be performed on an outpatient basis?

Eyelid correction is performed either on the upper and lower eyelid or just on one part of the eyelid, often only on the upper eyelid. The treatment is usually carried out on an outpatient basis, but upper and lower eyelids together require 1 day in hospital.

Can I fly after the operation?

This depends on your personal circumstances and also on the type of operation. Your doctor will advise you on this.

What 'extras' might I have to pay for?

There are no hidden costs.

The costs for the operation discussed in the preliminary consultation will be sent to you in the form of a written cost breakdown (invoice) together with a detailed information folder after the appointment for the operation has been arranged. Dr Noack will be happy to explain the cost structure to you if you have any questions.

You can purchase any necessary compression garments for post-operative treatment (e.g. after liposuction) from a medical supply store before the operation or obtain them directly from the clinic. Dr Noack will discuss the options with you.

If a blood sample or other examination is necessary before the operation, we will communicate this with you and recommend that the relevant examinations be carried out by your family doctor or the relevant specialist.

Do you offer financing for the treatment?

Yes, you can use independent financial service providers for medical treatment (e.g. www.medkred.de or www.medipay.de) can easily apply for financing for an operation via the Internet.

In principle, as with practically every plastic surgeon working worldwide, Dr Noack requires payment in advance for all treatments.

What is plastic surgery?

Plastic-aesthetic surgery is a specialised discipline of plastic surgery and is dedicated to improving the external appearance of the face and body.

Why is it called "plastic" surgery?

The name comes from the Greek word plastikos, which means to mould and shape.

What qualifications should I look for in a plastic surgeon?

Certification as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery is an indication that the plastic surgeon is well qualified.

He or she should be prepared to answer all your questions thoroughly and show you examples (photos) of his or her work.

Are plastic surgeons and cosmetic surgeons the same thing?

No. Plastic surgeons are doctors who have specialised training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. It usually takes at least six years of training after medical school to become a plastic surgeon. Afterwards, they are certified as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery following an examination by the Medical Association. However, the term "cosmetic surgeon" was actually coined by doctors who do not have a specialist qualification in plastic and aesthetic surgery but still work in this field. As the terms "cosmetic surgeon" or "aesthetic medicine" are not legally protected, any doctor can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon. Therefore, always ask for the appropriate qualification.
